Theory of Computation

Richard Jozsa is an Australian mathematician who holds the Leigh Trapnell Chair in Quantum Physics at the University of Cambridge and is a fellow of King's College, Cambridge, where his research investigates quantum information science. His place in computing comes from quantum algorithms and protocols: he is the co-author of the Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm, an early example of a quantum algorithm exponentially faster than any deterministic classical algorithm, and he is one of the co-inventors of quantum teleportation. The source describes him as a pioneer of his field. He was born on 13 November 1953.
