Image color transfer

Image color transfer is a function that maps the colors of one source image onto the colors of a target image. The same name is used both for the mapping function and for the algorithm that produces it, and the process is also called color transfer. When grayscale images are involved it is called a brightness transfer function, and the same idea appears under the names photometric camera calibration and radiometric camera calibration. The source lead adds that the term is a bit of a misnomer, because most common algorithms transfer shading as well as color, so the visible change can be largely a change of lightness rather than of hue.
