Ook! is an esoteric programming language created by David Morgan-Mar as a direct, deliberately whimsical reworking of the language Brainfuck, in which each of Brainfuck's eight single-character commands is instead represented by one of three possible two-word phrases built from the words Ook., Ook? and Ook!, intended to evoke the vocabulary of an orangutan. Ook! programs are functionally identical to their Brainfuck equivalents and can be mechanically translated to and from Brainfuck, with the joke being the language's exaggerated verbosity rather than any change in computational model.
