All Cryptography and Distributed Ledgers

Fields concerned with protecting information through mathematics and with agreeing on shared records without a central authority. It covers the design of ciphers, signatures and protocols that keep data secret and authentic, and ledgers replicated across many parties and secured by cryptographic methods. A field belongs here when its security rests on cryptographic constructions. It excludes the operational defense of systems, which belongs to information and system security.
