Hyperlink-Induced Topic Search, or HITS, also known as hubs and authorities, is a link analysis algorithm that rates web pages, developed by Jon Kleinberg. It assigns each page two scores, an authority score estimating the value of the page's own content and a hub score estimating the value of its links to other pages, based on the insight that some pages served as directories, or hubs, pointing users toward other pages that were the actual authorities on a topic.
