FAQs

What happened to Harry Huskey's own Bendix G-15 computer?

Bendix gave Huskey a G-15 that he used as a personal computer for many years. It went to the Smithsonian in 1990.

The IEEE Computer Society biography of Huskey says the Bendix Corporation gave him a G-15, a drum computer that he had designed while on leave at Wayne State University in 1952 and 1953. He used that machine for many years as his personal computer. In 1990 it was presented to the Smithsonian Institution for the Information Age exhibit in the National Museum of American History.
