Parody and Themed Esoteric Languages

Esoteric languages that are built around a joke, a parody or a disguise rather than around usefulness. INTERCAL was created as a parody that satirizes the programming languages of its day, LOLCODE borrows the speech of internet cat pictures, and the Shakespeare Programming Language makes programs read like Shakespearean plays. INTERCAL was written in 1972 by two Princeton University students, Don Woods and James Lyon, and the Shakespeare Programming Language, designed by Jon Åslund and Karl Wiberg, resembles the Chef language in making programs look like something other than programs.
