Margo Seltzer is an American computer scientist who co-founded Sleepycat Software with Keith Bostic and developed Berkeley DB, a widely used open source embedded database engine later acquired by Oracle. She has researched log-structured file systems, database systems and large-scale caching, and has held the Herchel Smith professorship at Harvard University, where she also served as associate dean of engineering and applied sciences, and the Canada 150 Research Chair in Computer Systems at the University of British Columbia. Seltzer was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2019 and is an ACM Fellow.
