Nemerle is a multi-paradigm programming language for the .NET platform, combining functional, object-oriented and imperative programming features, developed beginning in 2003 by a team at the University of Wroclaw in Poland including Kamil Skalski and Michal Moskal. Nemerle is statically typed with type inference and is notable for its powerful compile-time macro system, which allows programmers to extend the language's own syntax, and it compiles to Common Intermediate Language bytecode, interoperating fully with other .NET languages such as C# and Visual Basic .NET.
