All Network Algorithm

Algorithms that control how data and access to a shared channel are managed in a communication network. It covers rate-limiting and traffic-shaping schemes and the methods by which stations on a shared medium avoid transmitting over one another. An algorithm belongs here when its job is to regulate the flow of packets or access to a link. It excludes graph routing and shortest-path methods, which belong to Graph Algorithm, and coordination among distributed processes, which belongs to Parallel and Distributed Algorithm.
