Wu's Method of Characteristic Set

Wu's method, also called the Wenjun Wu method, is an algorithm for solving systems of multivariate polynomial equations, introduced in the late 1970s by the Chinese mathematician Wen-Tsun Wu. It is based on the concept of a characteristic set, introduced in the late 1940s by J. F. Ritt, and it was developed independently of other algebraic approaches such as Groebner bases.
