In fractal geometry, the Higuchi dimension, or Higuchi fractal dimension (HFD), is an approximate value for the box-counting dimension of the graph of a real-valued function or time series. The algorithm for computing it has found use across several scientific disciplines, including the analysis of seismic waves, clinical neurophysiology, and research into electroencephalogram changes associated with Alzheimer's disease.
