Crystal is a general-purpose, object-oriented programming language, designed and developed by Ary Borenszweig, Juan Wajnerman, Brian Cardiff and more than 400 contributors. It is influenced by Ruby's syntax, and is compiled while having static type checking; it has been described as a compiled version of Ruby. Crystal features type inference, so most type annotations are optional, and compiles to efficient native code via LLVM.
