BlackBerry 10 was a proprietary mobile operating system that BlackBerry Limited, then still called Research In Motion, built for its line of BlackBerry smartphones, launching with its first devices on January 30, 2013. The system was built on QNX, a Unix-like operating system that QNX Software Systems had originally developed before Research In Motion acquired the company in 2010. The first two devices to run it were the full touchscreen Z10 and the physical-keyboard Q10, and BlackBerry Limited eventually released ten devices running the system in various combinations of touchscreen and physical keyboard. BlackBerry 10 was declared end of life on January 4, 2022.
