Sergey Mikhailovich Brin (born August 21, 1973) is an American computer scientist and businessman who co-founded Google with Larry Page. He was president of Google's parent company, Alphabet Inc., until stepping down from the role in 2019, and remains a co-founder, controlling shareholder and board member. Born in Moscow and raised in the United States from age six, Brin earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Maryland, College Park, studying mathematics and computer science, then in 1993 enrolled at Stanford University to pursue a PhD in computer science.
