Home›Computer Systems Organization›Early Computing Machines and Historical Pioneers›International Early Electronic Computer PioneersGroupInternational Early Electronic Computer PioneersThis child group of Early Computing Machines and Historical Pioneers gathers the engineers and scientists who led the first electronic computer built in their own country outside the United States and the United Kingdom, including Sergei Lebedev's MESM and BESM in the Soviet Union, Xia Peisu's first Chinese general purpose computer, Mario Tchou's Olivetti Elea in Italy, Trevor Pearcey and Maston Beard's CSIRAC in Australia, and comparable founding machines in Hungary, Spain, Mexico and elsewhere. Their shared work is establishing a national computing capability independently, often years after the Anglo-American machines and under very different resource constraints, as distinct from the American and British founding wave or any later specialization within computer systems.FactsBrowse BySourcesComments (0)Reader Challenges (0)FactsComparisonEra of EmergenceWell-attested1941 1Browse ByAll International Early Electronic Computer PioneersInternational Early Electronic Computer Pioneers49 entriesInternational Early Electronic Computer PioneersFilter Results49 entriesFieldAllEarly Computing Machines and Historical Pioneers (49)International Early Electronic Computer Pioneers (49)BornAll1897 (1)1902 (2)1903 (1)1905 (1)1909 (1)1910 (1)1912 (1)1913 (1)1914 (1)1917 (3)1918 (1)1919 (2)1920 (2)1921 (4)1922 (3)1923 (1)1924 (3)1925 (1)1926 (3)1927 (1)1930 (1)1931 (2)1943 (1)1949 (1)1958 (1)1959 (1)1978 (1)ACM AreaAllArtificial Intelligence (1)Computer Architecture (10)Cryptography (1)Embedded Systems (1)Machine Learning (2)Parallel Computing (4)Pattern Recognition (1)Programming Language Theory (1)Theory of Computation (2)Ubiquitous Computing (1)GroupAllInternational Early Electronic Computer Pioneers (49)NationalityAllAustralia (1)Belarus (1)Bulgaria (1)China (2)England (1)Germany (8)Hungary (2)India (1)Italy (3)Japan (3)Mexico (1)Netherlands (1)Poland (3)Russia (4)Spain (1)United Kingdom (2)United States (9)Wikidata: Australia (2)Show ResultsBrowseCompareSelect all 49Antoni KilinskiComputer Systems OrganizationBashir RameevComputer Systems OrganizationBetty HolbertonComputer Systems Organization2 linksCharles HamblinComputer Systems OrganizationCi YunguiComputer Systems Organization1 linkDavid AtienzaComputer Systems Organization1 linkDon HorwoodComputer Systems OrganizationEiichi GotoComputer Systems OrganizationErich BlochComputer Systems Organization1 linkFrances BilasComputer Systems OrganizationGaetano BorrielloComputer Systems Organization1 linkGeorgy LopatoComputer Systems OrganizationGerald EstrinComputer Systems Organization2 linksHarry FensomComputer Systems Organization1 linkHeinz BillingComputer Systems Organization1 linkIsaak BrukComputer Systems OrganizationJacek KarpińskiComputer Systems Organization2 linksJeffrey Chuan ChuComputer Systems OrganizationJohn BennettComputer Systems OrganizationJohn Makepeace BennettComputer Systems OrganizationJohn von NeumannComputer Systems Organization12 linksJurij SemkiwComputer Systems OrganizationKarl SteinbuchComputer Systems Organization1 linkKonrad ZuseComputer Systems Organization10 linksLaszlo KozmaComputer Systems Organization1 linkLev Nikolayevich KorolyovComputer Systems OrganizationLubomir Georgiev IlievComputer Systems OrganizationMamoru HosakaComputer Systems OrganizationMario TchouComputer Systems Organization2 linksMasatoshi ShimaComputer Systems Organization1 linkMaston BeardComputer Systems Organization1 linkMax NewmanComputer Systems OrganizationMorris ChangComputer Systems OrganizationPeter DruschelComputer Systems OrganizationPier Giorgio PerottoComputer Systems Organization2 linksRangaswamy NarasimhanComputer Systems OrganizationRobert PilotyComputer Systems OrganizationRomuald W.
