Charles Geschke

Charles M. Geschke (September 11, 1939 - April 16, 2021) was an American computer scientist who co-founded Adobe Inc. in 1982 with John Warnock, after the two had worked together at Xerox PARC developing the Interpress page description language. At Adobe, Geschke helped create PostScript, which transformed desktop publishing, and later the PDF document format, and he served as the company's president from 1989 to 2000 and co-chairman of its board from 1997 to 2017. He received the National Medal of Technology and Innovation in 2008 and shared the Marconi Prize with Warnock in 2010.
