James D. Foley

James David Foley is an American computer scientist and computer graphics researcher, professor emeritus who held the Stephen Fleming Chair in Telecommunications in the School of Interactive Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he also served as interim dean of the College of Computing from 2008 to 2010. He is best known as co-author of several widely used computer graphics textbooks, of which more than 400,000 copies have been printed and translated into ten languages, and his later research turned to instructional technologies and distance education.
