Kyoung Mu Lee

Kyoung Mu Lee is a South Korean computer scientist and professor at Seoul National University whose research in computer vision covers image restoration, three-dimensional human pose estimation and visual tracking. He developed the VDSR and EDSR deep-learning architectures for image super-resolution, the latter winning the NTIRE 2017 Single Image Super-Resolution Challenge, and created datasets including GOPRO for motion deblurring, V2V-PoseNet for three-dimensional pose estimation and InterHand2.6M for hand pose benchmarking. Since 2021 he has served as editor-in-chief of IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, the first person based in Asia to hold that position. According to Google Scholar his publications have drawn more than 50,000 citations.
