Lotfi Aliasger Zadeh (4 February 1921 - 6 September 2017) was a mathematician, computer scientist, electrical engineer, artificial intelligence researcher, and professor of computer science at the University of California, Berkeley. He is best known for proposing fuzzy mathematics, including fuzzy sets, fuzzy logic, fuzzy algorithms, fuzzy semantics, fuzzy languages, fuzzy control, fuzzy systems, fuzzy probabilities and fuzzy events. He was a founding member of the Eurasian Academy.
