James Pustejovsky (born 1956) is an American computer scientist and the TJX Feldberg Professor of Computer Science at Brandeis University. His work addresses the theoretical and computational modeling of language, including computational linguistics, lexical semantics, knowledge representation, and temporal and spatial reasoning, with a research focus on natural language processing and the computational analysis of linguistic meaning. He holds a BS from MIT and a PhD from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and in a 1991 article, further developed in his 1995 book of the same name, first proposed generative lexicon theory in lexical semantics.
