Franklin H. Westervelt

Franklin Herbert Westervelt (March 26, 1930 to July 29, 2015) was an American engineer, computer scientist, and educator at the University of Michigan and Wayne State University. He earned degrees in mathematics and mechanical and electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, received his PhD in 1961, was a professor of mechanical engineering and associate director of the university's Computing Center, and was involved in early studies of how to use computers in engineering education.
