David Walden

David Corydon Walden (1942 to 2022) was an American computer scientist who helped develop the Interface Message Processor, the packet switching node that formed the hardware of the ARPANET, while working at Bolt Beranek and Newman. In 1968 he and colleagues wrote the proposal that won BBN the contract to build the ARPANET's packet switches. He later contributed to the IEEE Computer Society's Annals of the History of Computing and was active in the TeX Users Group.
