Glen Culler

Glen Jacob Culler (July 7, 1927 to May 3, 2003) was an American professor of electrical engineering and an important early innovator in the development of the internet. He joined the University of California, Santa Barbara mathematics faculty in 1959 and helped put the campus at the forefront of what became the field of computer science, later serving as director of the UCSB Computer Center and professor in the College of Engineering and extending his view of computers into the classroom. He left UCSB in 1969 to found his own company, Culler-Harrison, which later became CHI Systems and then Culler Scientific.
