Mohammad Alizadeh is an associate professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT and a member of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, working on computer networks and systems for large-scale datacenters. He completed his PhD at Stanford University and worked at the datacenter-networking startup Insieme Networks and at Cisco before joining MIT. He is known for the Data Center TCP protocol addressing datacenter network congestion, adopted by companies including Alibaba, Cisco, Google, Meta and Microsoft, and received the SIGCOMM Rising Star Award in 2017, an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship in 2017, and the ACM Grace Murray Hopper Award in 2022 for his contributions to datacenter networks.
