Jun Murai (born March 29, 1955 in Tokyo) is a Japanese researcher known as the founder of influential computer network projects in Japan, including JUNET and the WIDE Project. He is called by some the Father of Internet in Japan and Internet Samurai, and he is a professor and Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies at Keio University as well as President of the Japan Network Information Center. He received the 2011 IEEE Internet Award and was inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame in 2013.
