Peter J. Weinberger

Peter J. Weinberger is a computer scientist best known for his early work at Bell Labs; he now works at Google. He earned a PhD in mathematics, focused on number theory, from the University of California, Berkeley in 1969, and after teaching at the University of Michigan he joined Bell Labs, where he contributed to the design of the AWK programming language, representing the W in its name, and the Fortran compiler f77.
