Eiiti Wada

Eiiti Wada is a computer scientist and emeritus professor at the University of Tokyo, and research director of Internet Initiative Japan, a computer network technology company; he is one of the creators of the Happy Hacking Keyboard. He was a member of the IFIP Working Group 2.1 on Algorithmic Languages and Calculi, part of the design team behind the Japanese candidate language ALGOL N proposed as a successor to ALGOL 60, and later a member of the International Organization for Standardization, where he chaired the national member body responsible for character encoding standards and helped create the related Japanese Industrial Standards JIS X 0208 and 0212.
