Marta Kwiatkowska

Marta Kwiatkowska (born 1957) is a Polish-born theoretical computer scientist and Professor of Computing Systems in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford, and a Fellow of Trinity College, Oxford. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science from Jagiellonian University in Krakow before holding positions at the University of Leicester, the Jagiellonian University and the University of Birmingham; her research develops modelling and automated verification techniques for computing systems, and she led development of the PRISM model checker, a leading tool for probabilistic model checking used in wireless networks, robotics, systems biology and DNA computing. She was the first woman to win the Royal Society's Milner Award and Lecture, in 2018, and won the BCS Lovelace Medal in 2019; she is a Fellow of the Royal Society and of the Association for Computing Machinery.
