Thomas W. Reps (born May 28, 1956) is an American computer scientist recognized for his contributions to automatic program analysis. He held the J. Barkley Rosser Professorship and the Rajiv and Ritu Batra Chair at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1985 until his retirement in 2024. He authored or co-authored four books and more than 175 papers on program slicing, data-flow analysis, pointer analysis, model checking and computer security, with much of his work focused on static analysis of binary executables lacking symbol tables or debugging information. He co-founded and served as president of GrammaTech Inc, and received the ACM SIGPLAN Programming Languages Achievement Award in 2017.
