Lance J. Williams

Computing Methodologies

Lance J. Williams (September 25, 1949 to August 20, 2017) was a graphics researcher who made major contributions to texture map prefiltering, shadow rendering algorithms, facial animation and antialiasing techniques. He was among the first to recognize the potential of computer graphics to transform film and video making. He received the ACM SIGGRAPH Steven A. Coons Award in 2001.
