Roberto Ierusalimschy

Roberto Ierusalimschy is a Brazilian computer scientist and professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, known for creating the Lua programming language, a lightweight embeddable scripting language widely used in games and applications that need a small, fast, extensible scripting layer. He also developed LPeg, a Lua library for parsing text using parsing expression grammars, and wrote Programming in Lua, the languages standard reference book.
