Bryan Cantrill is an American software engineer and cofounder and chief technology officer of Oxide Computer Company, previously chief technology officer at Joyent and, before that, an engineer at Sun Microsystems. At Sun he was a principal creator of DTrace, a dynamic tracing framework built into Solaris 10 that lets engineers observe the behavior of a running production system in real time without stopping it or adding special instrumentation in advance, work that earned him a 2005 MIT Technology Review TR35 award and a Wall Street Journal Technology Innovation Award.
