Vineet Bafna is an Indian bioinformatician, professor of computer science and director of the bioinformatics program at the University of California, San Diego. He was elected a Fellow of the International Society for Computational Biology in 2019 for outstanding contributions to computational biology and bioinformatics, and has served on the steering committee of the Research in Computational Molecular Biology conference.
