William Henry Press, born May 23, 1948, is an astrophysicist, theoretical physicist, computer scientist, and computational biologist. He is a member of the United States National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, served as vice chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology from 2009 to 2016, and was the 165th president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in 2012 and 2013.
