Andrew Chi-Chih Yao is a Chinese computer scientist, theoretical physicist and computational theorist, a professor and dean of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences at Tsinghua University. He earned a doctorate in physics from Harvard University in 1972 and a second doctorate in computer science from the University of Illinois in 1975, later taught at MIT, Stanford and Berkeley, and won the 2000 ACM Turing Award.
