Ingo Wegener (December 4, 1950, in Bremen to November 26, 2008, in Bielefeld) was an influential German computer scientist working in theoretical computer science, focusing his research on circuit complexity, Boolean functions and binary decision diagrams, and later on metaheuristics and evolutionary computation. He authored two books on those later topics and received the Konrad Zuse Medal in 2006 for his contributions to teaching and research.
