Nobuo Yoneda was a Japanese mathematician and computer scientist who graduated from the University of Tokyo's Department of Mathematics in 1952 and later served as professor there before moving to Gakushuin University and then Tokyo Denki University. The Yoneda lemma in category theory and the Yoneda product in homological algebra are named for him, and in computer science he is known for his work on dialects of the ALGOL programming language, serving as the Japanese representative on the International Federation for Information Processing working group that specified and maintained ALGOL 60 and ALGOL 68.
