Gunter Hotz (born November 16, 1931) is a German pioneer of computer science whose work includes formal languages, digital circuits and computational complexity theory. He received his PhD in 1958 at Gottingen under advisor Kurt Reidemeister, received the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft in 1987, and received the Konrad Zuse Medal of the Gesellschaft fur Informatik in 1999.
