Paul Spirakis

Paul Spirakis is a Greek computer scientist and professor at the University of Liverpool, where he has directed the Algorithms research section since 2013, and at the University of Patras, specializing in algorithms, computational complexity, and algorithmic game theory. He earned a master's degree and a doctorate in applied mathematics and computer science from Harvard University under John Reif, and he served as editor in chief of the journal Theoretical Computer Science and as president of the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science from 2016 to 2020. He is a Fellow of the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science and a member of the Academia Europaea.
