Gloria Townsend is an American computer scientist and professor in the Department of Computer Science at DePauw University in Indiana, recognized for her work in evolutionary computation and her dedication to promoting women in computing. She has served on the executive committee of the Association for Computing Machinery Council on Women in Computing, organized regional Celebrations of Women in Computing beginning in 2006 that expanded to twelve regions with National Science Foundation funding in 2010, and was recognized as a Distinguished Member of the ACM in 2020.
