What did Interop do for the early commercial internet?
Interop showed that the internet's design was commercially viable and spread that message to computer makers and to Europe and Asia.
Interop was the conference Dan Lynch founded after the internet's launch. The Internet Hall of Fame says it played a dominant role in demonstrating the commercial viability of the internet's design, and that it trained thousands of people in how the internet was designed and implemented. The Hall of Fame adds that the first computer makers followed suit and that Interop spread to Europe and Asia, giving the internet even greater global visibility.
