The GNU Lesser General Public License Version 3 is a free software licence published by the Free Software Foundation on 29 June 2007. It is written as a set of additional permissions added on top of version 3 of the GNU General Public License, and it incorporates the terms and conditions of that licence, supplemented by the extra permissions it lists. The text defines three kinds of work. The Library is a covered work governed by the licence, an Application is any work that makes use of an interface provided by the Library without otherwise being based on it, and a Combined Work is produced by combining or linking an Application with the Library. Defining a subclass of a class from the Library counts as using its interface. Projects such as SCM and GNU Guile are described as published under LGPL terms.
