eCos License 2.0

Software License

The eCos License 2.0 is the license recorded in this atlas for eCos, the Embedded Configurable Operating System. The article on eCos states that eCos is a free and open-source real-time operating system intended for embedded systems and applications which need only one process with multiple threads, that it was initially developed in 1997 by Cygnus Solutions, later bought by Red Hat, and that at the request of the eCos developers Red Hat agreed in January 2004 to transfer the eCos copyrights to the Free Software Foundation, a process completed in May 2008. This entry is described from the article on eCos, because the license has no article of its own.
