A domain reduction algorithm is a computational technique that reduces the constraints and degrees of freedom of a problem in order to make it easier to find solutions to partial differential equations. By narrowing the space of the problem before solving it, these algorithms make computationally demanding problems in numerical analysis and computational mathematics more tractable and efficient to solve.
