The metric k-center problem, also called the vertex k-center problem, is a classical NP-hard combinatorial optimization problem in theoretical computer science. Given a set of cities and the distances between them, it asks for the placement of k warehouses among the cities so as to minimize the maximum distance from any city to its nearest warehouse. Entity-backed identity for the design-technique enum value this algorithm already carries, resolved to a computing concept by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The design-technique fact itself stays on the algorithm unchanged.
