A+ (programming language)

Array Language

A+ is a high level, interactive, interpreted array programming language designed for numerically intensive work, particularly in finance. Arthur Whitney began the design in 1988 with an initial language called A, meant to replace APL, and colleagues at Morgan Stanley then extended it into A+ by adding a graphical user interface and additional language features, including automatic synchronization between widgets and program variables. A+ is free and open source software, released under the GNU General Public License, and its most recent stable release, version 4.22-1, dates from March 2008; it runs on Unix like systems such as Linux.
