Backend Web Framework

A named framework whose primary job is server-side application logic: routing requests, talking to a database and returning a response, independent of any particular client-side rendering approach. Belongs here: Apache Struts, ASP.NET, CakePHP, CodeIgniter, Django, Express.js, FastAPI, Flask, Grails, Laravel, Micronaut, NestJS, Play Framework, Quarkus, Ruby on Rails, Sinatra, Spring Framework, Symfony and Vert.x, each defined by server-side request handling. Does not belong here: a framework whose defined job is client-side rendering, filed under Frontend Web Framework, and a platform that bundles both halves as a single product, filed under Full-Stack Web Framework.
