BASIC Dialects

Dialects of BASIC, the Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code, a family of general-purpose, high-level languages made easy to learn for people new to programming. BASIC was designed for ease of use, and FreeBASIC runs on Microsoft Windows, DOS, Linux and FreeBSD under the GNU General Public License. Dialects of the language were written for many different machines, which is why the name denotes a family and not a single language.
