Elm

Functional Language

Elm is a domain-specific programming language for declaratively creating web browser-based graphical user interfaces. Elm is purely functional, and is developed with emphasis on usability, performance, and robustness, using a variation of the model-view-update architecture that has since influenced state-management approaches in other frameworks such as Redux. Elm compiles to JavaScript and was created by Evan Czaplicki.

FAQs

Does Elm really have no runtime exceptions?

Elm advertises no runtime exceptions in practice because of its compiler's static type checking.

Elm advertises "no runtime exceptions in practice." The claim rests on the Elm compiler's static type checking, so the claim is the language's own advertised goal.
